Notes to the Editor
McDonald’s support of the international Olympic Movement started in 1968, when the company sent hamburgers to Grenoble (France) for American sportsmen by plane.
Early last year McDonald’s announced the prolongation of the contract on official sponsorship for the Olympic Games up to 2020 and declared its commitment to actively participate in the bringing-up of physically active young generation. McDonald’s will be the official restaurant of four Olympic Games, including Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the Olympic Games of 2014 in Rio de Janeiro, the Olympic Winter Games of 2018 in Pyeongchang and the Olympic Games of 2020 in Tokio.
McDonald’s, on a global level, is implementing a number of sports programs. McDonald’s in Russia actively supports the Olympic Champion Crew program (a program for McDonalds’ staff) and the McDonad’s Champion of Play program (Children – McDonald’s Champions), which provide the staff members and small visitors with their parents with a once in a life chance to feel the Olympic spirit and to see the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games with their own eyes.
McDonald’s also supports the Youth Olympic Games that will take place in 2014 in Nanjing, the Youth Olympic Winter Games of 2016 in Lillehammer and the Youth Olympic Games of 2018 and 2020.

Sochi 2014 Marketing Program
It is only through joint efforts that it is possible make the 2014 Games truly successful: through the efforts of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and companies that are among its partners. Their financial contributions, the latest technologies and designs, and, most importantly, the personal involvement of executives and ordinary employees alike - all these factors will become parts of anintegral success of the 2014 Games.
Since the launch of the program in 2009, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee has attracted more than 1.3 billion dollars in financial investments, over 3 times the Bid Book commitment. This is 1.5times greater than the earnings of the Vancouver Games Organizing Committee throughout its entire existence. As such, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee became the most successful Winter Games Organizing Committee in the history of the Olympic movement.
The right to use Olympic and Paralympic Marks in Russia is held only by the TOP Partners of the IOC and IPC, the Sochi 2014 National Partners at all tiers, as well as companies which have signed a corresponding licensing agreement with the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. This regulatory provision is envisaged in the "Olympic Law" Code (Federal Law No. 310-ФЗ of 12/01/2007).
IOC TOP Partners are the companies which have entered into an agreement with the IOC for several four-year cycles. The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee also offers several tiers of the National Partnership Program, signing agreements with its partner-companies for the right to be associated with the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi on Russian territory.
