For their latest Partners Day, McDonald's invited staff from the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee to visit its charitable physical and cultural rehabilitation center for children with a disability.
The visitors were shown the Ronald McDonald Center’s special rehabilitation programs, along with the classrooms kitted out with computers and developmental games. They looked around the physical exercise and training halls and, along with some of the children, took part in sports and entertainment competitions.
Staff from the Organizing Committee joined the children in a game of ice hockey involving soft hockey sticks, and organized relay races. The event ended with all the teams coming together to stretch out a huge colored parachute, symbolizing happiness and unity among all people. The kids from the Center were also presented with souvenirs featuring the Sochi 2014 logo.
One of the Organizing Committee staff was inspired by this unusual Partners Day: "Making these kids smile, and showing them, by the way you treat and behave around them, that they are no different from other, able-bodied children, is a real joy."
